How To Get Six Pack Abs Fast
If you’ve ever seen one of those late night infomercials for some new miracle product for working out your abs, you know how easy they make it sound.
They make it sound like the reason that most people don’t get six pack abs or a flat tummy is because they’re not doing exercises targeting their abs properly.
WRONG!
It’s actually pretty easy to do exercises targeting your abs even if you don’t like sit-ups. You don’t need to spend a fortune on magic gizmos that target your abs. In fact, one of the best ways to target and strengthen your core is to spend $25 on a Swiss Ball. That’s really the only piece of equipment you’ll need, and if you have a gym membership, I guarantee they’ll have them available to you.
Getting strong abs is the easy part. But there’s a reason most people, including most professional athletes don’t have six pack abs. And it’s a body fat issue.
For most men to start seeing their abs, they need to get their body fat below 7%, and for women it’s around 10%. And that can be tough to do.
The real trick to getting six pack abs is your diet. You need to cut body fat.
But before you start cutting body fat, it’s helpful to know where you stand. There are a lot of online calculators floating around the Internet to help you estimate your body fat, but the truth is they tend to be notoriously inaccurate.
While your local health club probably has equipment to do an accurate test, they tend to be expensive to have done especially if you’re trying to chart your progress. I actually recommend a compromise. Here’s an inexpensive body fat caliper that you can use from the comfort of your home and will work to help you track your results so you can keep track of body fat percentage.
Now that you know what your body fat is and how far you’ve got to go, let’s talk about how to blast fat as possible. We’ll talk about your workout first, and then diet.
High Intensity Interval Training and Weight Training
If you think that just going for a run or spending 60 minutes on the elliptical machine on the gym is the best way to burn fat, I’ve got some bad news for you.
It’s not – not by a long shot.
As far as fat blasting programs go, you’re going to want to incorporate high intensity interval training (HIIT) into your workout.
Here is how an HIIT program works.
Instead of aiming for sustained activity over a long period, you’re instead going to shoot for maximum intensity for short bursts and then follow it for a brief rest period at a very low intensity.
I would say it’s a lot like football vs soccer. In football, you’re going 100% intensity for a few seconds followed by several seconds of rest. In soccer, you tend to spend most of the game running around and you’re always moving, only once in a while going for maximum intensity.
A basic HIIT workout
Here’s one I tend to do a few times throughout the day especially if I know I’m not going to be able to make it to the gym that night. This is a 4 minute workout so you can do it anytime. I recommend keeping a stopwatch in your hand to get the timing of the cycles right.
You’re going to do 8 thirty second cycles of this program, and here’s all you’re going to do. For twenty seconds, run in place as hard as you can, and then for 10 seconds, go at a pace where you’re barely moving your legs. During your rest period, you should be able to start catching your breath. That’s one cycle. Do 8 of those for a four minute workout.
If you were going to go out for a run, you’d do this as a series of sprints and walks. No jogging.
Weight Training
Weight training is a great way to boost your metabolism and keep it going all day long. The reason that HIIT and weight training work so well together is that the HIIT helps burn fat during the workout, and the weight training boosts your metabolism which keeps your body burning fat all day long. It’s got that 1,2 punch that will have you seeing results fast.
And don’t just focus on core exercises. You want to make sure to get your entire body involved in your weight training. Do a full body workout and hit all the major muscle groups for maximum effect.
Diet
I’m not sure why, but most guys have no problem with the workout phase of getting six pack abs. Perhaps, they feel that working out is a “manly” thing to do, but when it comes to diet, the think it’s a “chick thing.”
But if you’re serious about six pack abs, you’re going to want to get over this in a hurry. And while I’ve written about some ways to lose weight fast involving some extreme diets, here’s a simple one to use that you can do without having to think too much.
The Three Ingredient Diet
In this diet, there are only three things you can’t have, everything else is fair game. All you need to do is eliminate trans fats (hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils), monosodium glutamate (MSG), and high fructose corn syrup.
In case you’re curious what that entails, I’ve eliminated most junk food, candy, soda (pop), and most fast food, but the key word here is most. Not all. You can still find exceptions in each category to satisfy your cravings.
I like to call it a sensible eating plan.
Focus on increasing your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables. Eat less stuff from a box of a can, and you’ll find yourself losing fat quickly especially if you follow my exercise recommendations above.
Accelerate Your Results

Best Six Pack Abs Training Program
If you want a training program that will tell it like it is and will give you an exact, step by step guide to getting six pack abs, then you’re looking for The Truth About Six Pack Abs. It’s the number one selling abs program on the Internet and for good reason – it works.
Weight Loss Supplements
While not absolutely essential, a good, high quality weight loss supplement can really accelerate you cutting body fat quickly. It’s a whole lot easier to not eat a piece of cake or a bowl of ice cream if you’re not hungry. And a good weight loss supplement can also help boost your metabolism and even block some fat absorption. It’s rare to find one that does all three at the same, time, which is why I’m excited that I found one that does. The nice thing about this one is they’ll send you a FREE BOTTLE so you can actually see if it’s working for you before you commit to getting more.
Get More Energy
One of the biggest things you’ll hear personal trainers tell you is that to get the most out of your workout, you really need to push yourself. If you just go into the gym and go through the motions of your workout, you’re not going to get the results you want.
So it makes sense to go in and be able to give 100% and then some. That’s why I recommend an energy supplement. I remember one I used to take whose tagline was “for the hardest workout of your life.” And they weren’t kidding. The energy boost you can get from an energy supplement can really allow you to dig deep and give everything you’ve got during your workout.
Now I’m not recommending you take a Red Bull or Monster Energy Drink before your workout. They’re loaded with stuff you probably don’t want to put in your body including way too much caffeine. Instead, I recommend FRS Energy – it’s the same stuff Lance Armstrong and the Golden State Warriors use – this is high quality stuff. And I’ve even worked out a special deal for visitors of Workout Well to get a 14 day supply of the stuff for FREE! Just use this link for your FREE 14 day supply of FRS Energy.
